The Lytton Street School committee met last evening, Mr .0. V. Jewell (chairman) presiding. Also present wore Messrs G. V. Guy, F. Jenkins, O. A. Batt (headmaster), and Mesdamcs E. Scott and T. Donaldson.

The headmaster reported that the roll for the past month hud been 312 with an average attendance of 230.86. This was rather better than he had anticipated in view of the prevailing epidemics of sickness among children. Tho increase in the roll had resulted in the school being raised a sub-grade. The new first assistant, Mr F. Thomas, had commenced his duties and Air Batt spoke of him as being an experienced teacher and one who would give valuable service to tho school. Ou the school re-opening yesterday, six new pupils were enrolled. In concluding his report, Mr Batt said thanks were due to Messrs O’Neill and Saunders, who had loaned their cars for the conveyance of children belonging to the basketball teams. A letter was received from the schools' dental clinic committee regarding tho levy for the current year which had been fixed at 2s per child, and announced, that the clinic’s list for Lytton Street numbered 179 children. The meeting agreed to levy the parents of children Is per head and to find the other Is out of the special fund. In discussing the question of the treatment of children generally, the meeting decided to recommend to the Health Department that the treatment of children, be not restricted to those of standard IV and under.
