Sheepskins, Hide and Tallow Sales

Dalgoty and Co., Ltd., report; — The combined Wellington vvol brokers held their usual fortnightly sale of sheepskins, hides, tallow and sundries on Friday before a fall attendance of exporters, tanners and the local trade.

•Sheepskins: Fair catalogues wore submitted, values for sound pelted descriptions being fully firm on late rates. The demand lor damaged, seedy and inferior descriptions was irregular and ptices were lower, baited skins sold round about lust quotations. Hides: There was good enquiry for all grades and weights, exporters and tanners buying freely. As compared with our last sale wo found heavies and mediums l-8d to Jd higher and lightweights l-8d higher. Kip and yearling sold well up to the level oi late rates. Calf again met a weaker market, values declining 4d.

Tallow: Tho market showed little variation on previous quotations, mixed celling to 20s (id per cwt. The range of prices is as follows: Sheepskins: Half bred, Did to 13(1; line Xbred, lOd to IJAd; medium Xbretl, Did to lO.jd; coarse Xbred, fid to 10-Jd'j half wools, 71 d to quarter wools, old to 8d; pelts, 21d to sd. Salted al each: Felts, to 2s 3d; half wools, to 4s fid; three-quarter wools, to 7s -id; lull wools, to 8s 3d; extra large, to 9s.
