MAYOR OF HOKITIKA HONOURED. • Per Press Association. HOKITIKA, Sept. 2. At a public gathering of citizens in the Towu Hall last evening, the deputyMavor, Mr Leslie Michel presiding, presented the Mayor of Hokitika, Mr Geoige Albert Perry, 0.8. E., with a handsome illuminated address and substantial pieco of. silver plate in recognition of his 25 years’ continuous service as Mayor of the town. Very complimentary references were made to his valued services to tho town and district over a period of years, He is the first Hokitika born Mr-vor of the town.
