Palmerston North Hospital Board
REPORTS TO MONTHLY MEETING The monthly meeting of tho Palmerston North Hospital Board was held yesterday, Air. J. K. Ilornblow presiding. Also present were Airs. Al. Aitchison and Alessrs G. A. Alonk, F. J. Ryder, J. Boyce, G. P. Catlcy, Al. A. Aloody, J. Hodgens, ALP., V. E. Smith, A. E. Mansford, L. T. AlcLean, W. Howell, T. Green and J. A. Nash.
The following statistics wero set out in the report of the medical superintendent (Dr. .T. H. North): Patients remaining in hospital, 30/6/3G, 192; patients admitted during July, 335; patients discharged, 285; patients died, 20; patients remaining in hospital, 31/7/3G, 225; daily average number of occupied beds, 211.G4. Alaternity Home: Admissions during month, 21; births during month, 20; attended ante-natal clinic, 98; remaining in home, mothers 10, babes 10. The medical superintendent at Otaki sanitorium (Dr. R. S. Francis) reported that the daily averago numuer of occupied beds for July was 41.93. There were now only 12 Wellington Hospital Board patients in the institution, as compared with 25 a year ago. Inter alia, the managing-secretary (Air. A. J. Phillipps) reported as follows:—Administration block: Tlie contractor has made good progress during tho past month. The plasterers have now nearly finished. Painting work: During the month, painting work on tlie interior of the nurses’ homo has been carried' on. The work on the wooden buildings has been finished and a commencement has been made on the interior work in the Wilson block.
