Machine-like Rifle Shooting

What must be close to a Now Zealand record score for eight men teams, was registered during a rifle shooting match between tho Ashhurst and Rangitikei Rifle Clubs at Bulls on Saturday, the Rangitikei representatives putting on 800 points or an average of 100 per man out of a possiblo of 105. Tho Ashhurst team also shot well and averaged 95.1 per man. They were unlucky to strike the Balls men in such brilliant form. At tho 300 yards W. Jenkins and H. Meads (Rangitikei) scored the possible, and at 500 yards Ken Lumsden and D. Lundy (Rangitikei), E. A. Jones and J. Searle (Ashhurst) all made the possible. At 600 yards Ken Lumsden and A. Stevenson (Rangitikei) each made 34 for top score. Ken Lumsden 102 topped Rangitikei's team and E. A. Jones 101 headed tho Ashhurst returns. Detailed scores were as follows:

At the conclusion of the matcih the Ashhurst team was entertained at afternoon tea. Mr Komley, president of the Ashhurst Club, thanked tho Bulls men for tiheir hospitality and congratulated them on their fine score.
