“TIES” WEATHER REPORT
Still Squally and Changeable Por Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night. The westerly type of pressure situation still persists. Frequent low pressure waves are passing across the southern portion of the Dominion, while an anti-cyclone extends over the far northern portion of the Tasman Sea to beyond northern New Zealand. Winds: North-westerly to westerly still prevailing, backing for brief intervals in places to south-westerly, moderate to strong generally and reaching galo force at times especially about and ‘south of Cook Strait. Seas (New Zealand waters): Bough on the West Coast and in the Cook and Foveaux Straits areas, elsewhere slight to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Moderate to strong westerly winds of gale force and backing at times to south-westerly in the southern portion; seas moderate in the northern portion and rough in the southern. Weather: Squally and changeable with further intermittent rain in districts with a westerly aspect and thunder in places; fair and mild for the most part in eastern areas but some scattered rains probable more especially in the ranges and in western parts.
