Intermittent Rain

Per Press Association, WELLINGTON, Last Night,

The pressure rose fairly rapidly in the south during Saturday night, but the series of westerly depressions is still advancing from southern Australia across the -Tasman Sea towards New Zealand. Winds: South-westerly at first on parts of the East Coast but westerly to north-westerly predominating,'moderate to strong generally and increasing again to gale force in places. Seas (New Zealand waters): Rough south of Cape Egmont and in Foveaux Strait; rather rough about Cook Strait and’off the east coast of the South Island; elsewhere slight to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea: Alodcrate to strong west to north-west winds reaching gale force in tho southern portion; Seas rather rough to rough. Weather: Alainly fair in tho eastern districts south of East Cape, elsewhere cloudy to overcast with further intermittent rain and some heavy falls on the west coast of the South Island.

Cold to-night but temperatures becoming milder again to-morrow.
