Makomako
From Our Own Correspondent. Inter-School Basketball. A team of nine girls from the local school journeyed to Marima on Thursday afternoon and engaged in a basketball match with the Marima schoolgirls. A very even match resulted in a win for the home team by one goal to nil. In view of the fact that the Makomako School has only very recently commenced playing basketball, the girls are to be congratulated upon holding up their side so well. There were several spectators present and afternoon tea was served to the player? after the match. Miss Bayde extended a warm welcome t'o the 1 visitors - and Miss McFa.dxlen replied on behalf, of her team, thanking tho Marima teacher, girls and their friends for the sport and hospitality shown. The Makomako team was as follows: Goal throwers: Myrtle Groves, Ruth Clark, Margaret Eising;. goal defenders. Beryl Vile, Rita Sonntag, Marjory Groves; keepers, Mary Eising, Kathleen' Clark, Grade Clark. The girls look forward to a return match in the near future.
