From Our Own Correspondent An enjoyable party was held at the residence ot Air. and Airs. T, Howland, Karere, the occasion being the coming oi age ot miss Ina Holder, who wore a truck ot pasture green silk velvet with diamante trimming. The evening was spent in games and competitions, the winners being miss B. Hepburn, miss it. Howland, Air. 1. Eraser. Arr. Martin rendered a violin solo accompanied by Airs. Alartin. Air. D. Howland and Air. iEraser gave a vocal duet with ukeleie accompaniments while accordeon solos by Air. I. Parkinson were much enjoyed. Supper was served, a sueeial feature being the birthday cake decorated with with St canules. The toast Jf the guest of honour was proposed by Air. T. Howland anti Air. 1. i'raser responded on behalf of Aliss Holder. A pleasant evcmi.g was brought to a close at twelve o’ciock with the singing of Auul Hang Syne. Those present were Atesuames T. Howland, K. Howland, I’’. Hockley. Holder, J. Alartin, Atisses Af. Holder, At. Howland, M. Gaie, H. Howland, B. Hepburn, i. Holder, C. Howianu, B. Weddell, J. Money, I. Aloriey, l. Hearsey, J. Eraser, J. Gaisl'ord, W. Weddell, ft. Howland. The return euclire match was played between Tiakitahuna and Longburn in the school last week, Tiakitahuna winning by 72 games to 70. As each team has won match another match will probably be held to decide tho holder of the cup for the season. Supper was served. Airs. G. Chamberlain and Aliss U. Chamberlain arc spending a holiday at Hastings. Air. and Mrs. AI. H. Grace and family left on Friday morning for Auckland where they will in futuro reside. Tho friends of Air. and Airs. C. C. Hills, To Warakei road, will regret to hear that their daughter, Airs. J. Paul of Cambridge, is an inmate of a hospital in Palmerston North.
