INTER-PROVINCIAL TOURNEY THIS WEEK The triangular contest that started three years ago in friendly rivalry between teams from Wanganui, Wellington and tho Palmerston North Club, has so developed that it is now an interprovincial contest, with a new province asking to bo included each year. The annual contest will take place this week-end at the A. and P. Showgrounds, when full representative teams from Wellington, Wanganui, Hawke’s Bay, Wairarapa and the combined players from the two Palmerston North clubs will try out their skill against each other. Wellington won rather easily last year, and are sending a very strong team again, but Wairarapa will have to be considered in the running as on Saturday evening last they beat a representative Wellington team by 14 to 10.
The following players will represent the Palmerston North Club against Dannevirke this evening, at the Sliowgrounds: Halse, Jacobs, Barrett, Studd, Syme, Jamieson, Henderson and Mardon; Mrs. Yates, Misses J. McDonald, B. Hallett, Mrs. Robinson, Mrs. Allen, Miss Pain, Miss A. Turner, Miss E. Peters.
