Fatality When Bridge Collapses

Per Press Association. TADMARDNDI, Last Night. A fatal accident occurred this afternoon at Howey’s bridge, 16 miles from Taumarunui. A Maori, W. Houpapa, was driving a lorry laden with one bush log and had a passenger with him named David Crosby. When the lorry was crossing Ilowey’3 bridge it collapsed and the lorry was precipitated into the creek. Crosby was killed outright and Iloupapa’s shoulders were badly crushed. He was admitted to tho Taumarunui hospital.
