BUSH ASSOCIATION’S AFFAIRS.
RESIGNATION OF PRESIDENT. The affairs of tho Bush. Hockey Asjociation have not been any too happy for some time —since the Taranaki tour to bo exact—and matters came to a head finally this week when Mr E. Cavanagh, the president, tendered his resignation. The affair had its sequel on Friday night, when the executive of tho Association met to clear up the differences and receive the president’s resignation. Explanations were placed before the executive in detail and after giving due consideration to the matters set out the latter decided to accept Air Cavanagh’s resignation with regret. It was mentioned during the course of the meeting that the association would bo losing tho services of Miss J. Cavanagh as a result of the president’s resignation. Mr A. W. Suter tv& appointed acting-chairman for the remainder of the season. Preparations are being made for the representative team to play Akitio at Pongaroa on Wednesday, August 19, and also for the Harper cup at Marton on Saturday, August 15. The players for Marton leave Eketahuna at 10.30 a.m. and Pahiatua at 10.45. All are asked to be ready in good time. Air E. Mexted will be manager. For the Pongaroa match tho team will leave from Eketahuna at 10.50, and from Pahiatua at 10.30. Mr R. Farrow will be tho manager. The selector has chosen the following team for the Harper cup and Pongaroa games:— Mrs Galbraith, V. Edge, D. Dick, J. Ryan, I. Hawkes, P. Burgess, A. Cooper, D. Lett (eapt.), A. Dick, I. Spring and P. Ryan. Emergencies: A. Butler and M. Payne.
