Motorist Killed by Train

OAR SMASHED TO SCRAP METAL.

FATALITY NEAR CHRISTCHURCH. Por Press Association. CHRISTCHURH, Last Night. David Williamson, aged 62, a dairy farmer of Hal,swell, was killed when the car he was driving was struck hy the Little River train on the Clarence road crossing at Addington at rour o'clock this afternoon. The car was smashed almost to scrap metal. There were no other occupants of the car. Mr. Williamson, it is stated, stopped boforc going on to the crossing on which there are four tracks. He then went on to the line and the car was stnick hy the engine of the train which carried it along and wedged it against the signal box beside the line.

Mr. Williamson died 35 minutes after the accident. His injuries were a fracture of both arms, loss of an eye and gash on the side of the face. He drove his car over this crossing every day.
