Airs. Frank Tamblyn, of Roxburgh, Central Otago, who is on an extended tour of the North Island, is at present the guest of Airs. AI. A. AlacLeod, Taonui.
The friends of Miss Pearl Ward, Kimbolton road, Feilding, will regret to learn that she is at present an Inmate of the Palmerston North Hospital, where she underwent an operation for appendicitis.
Mrs. S. Y. Trask left for Wellington yesterday to visit her daughter prior to leaving for England on tho Ruahine on tho loth of this month. Mrs. Trask w.as farewclled at the station by a large circle of friends and was tho recipient of beautiful flowers and parting gifts and many expressions of goodwill. Poi tho past ten days Mrs. Trask has been the guest of Mrs. J. T. Bosworth, Fitzlicrbcrt avenue.
Mrs G. G. Hancox (president) reported to the Palmerston North branch of the Leaguo of Mothers, on Thursday, that she had written conveying the congratulations of the branch to Lady Elliott, of Wellington, a former Dominion president of tho league, whose husband, Sir James Elliott, was knighted in the King’s Birthday honours. She had received a reply conveying the best wishes to the branch, said Mrs Hancox.
