Britannia’s Last Voyage
KING’S YACHT TO BE SCUTTLED
AT SEA

RUGBY, June 20.
The Britannia, King George’s racing cutter, perhaps the most famous racing yacht in history, is to be scuttled at sea. Orders to this effect havo been given by King Edward. The Britannia is lying at present on the slipway at Cowes. Sho will be launched for the last time on the next spring tides, July 7 or July S, and handed over to tho Admiralty. The yacht, which has more than 200 victories to her credit, will be towed out to sea and then scuttled. Tho lead keel weighing 60 tons will not be taken out of the yacht when she is sunk. Die Britannia was built for tho present King’s grandfather, King Edward VII, when lie was Prinncc of Wales. Iu her 43 years of racing the Britannia started in 625 races and won 231 firsts and 129 other prizes.
