Jap-African Trade Agreement
WOOL, IRON, AND HIDES FROM UNION United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—C >pyright. Received Sunday, 9.20 p.m. TOKIO, June 20.
The South African Trade Commissioner, Mr Brcnau, had a conference at Osaka with a hundred businessmen, at which it was affirmed that there should be a Japauese-Africau trade agreement with an African commissioner stationed at Osaka. It was also agreed to import iron and other ores, and hides from Africa.
Mr B’renan hoped tho wool purchases would bo permanent and indicated that wool production would bo increased to meet the Japanese demands. Retaliatory Measures Denied TOKIO, Juno 19. Official circles deny that Australia is conciliatorily enforcing an intermediate, instead of general tariff against Japan, so retaliatory measures are proceeding-
