ADAMS MEMORIAL CUP WON BY DE SOTO
Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, June 20. Tho Auckland Trotting Club’s winter meeting opened at Alexandra Park today in showery weather. There was a fair attendance, the track was heavy und tho totalisator handled £18,958, as against £14,350 on the first day last year, there being an increase of £4578. De Soto was in front turning for home, going on to win by Two and a-half lengths from King's Warrior, with Smooger half a head further away third. Prince Pedro was fourth. The second time past the stands, Edna Worthy led from Bonny Azure, Moeast, Wee Machine, Pegaway and Manoeuvre. Bonny Azure led into the turn and was slightiy ahead of Moeast when she broke up several yards from the post, Moeast going on to win by one and a-half lengths from Bonny Azure, with Travis two and a-half lengths further away third.
