Feilding Municipal Abattoir
NEW SLAUGHTERING CONTRACT A special meeting of the Fcilding Borough Council was held' on Thursday evening for the purpose of considering tenders for the new slaughtering contract in connection with the municipal abattoir. Proceedings were taken in committee. Three tenders were received and that of the Feilding Bacon Co. was accepted. The company’s tender provided for the following fees: Cattle 4s\6d each, sheep each, vealers Is 9d each, bobby calves Cd each, pigs a flat rate of Is Id each. The total killings at the municipal abattoir last year were: Cattle 1783, sheep 4327, vealers 52, bobby calves 6407, pigs 14,709. Of the pigs handled tho Bacon Company killed 14,401.
