ITALY’S HUGE ROAD-BUILDING PLAN United Press Association— By Electric Telegraph.—Copyrlgh t. Received Wednesday, 10.20 p.m. ROME, June 17. The Minister of the Colonies has decided to proceed with the national colonisation of Abyssinia through authorised bodies. Free grants of small areas will be made to Italian peasants who will share farming with natives where whites cannot stand the climate. There will also be industrial colonisation under licenses. The Public Works Ministry will undertake a two-year plan of road-building at the rate or tnrec miles daily, totalling 2300 miles of roads, employing 260,000 men, half of whom will be Italians, The cost will be £25,000,000.
