Two small slips and one large one, which blocked the Alaiu Trunk line north of Alangaweka yesterday, were responsible for the delay of three and a-half hours in the arrival of tho southbound Limited express in Palmerston North. Tho train had been held atfaihape from 4 a.in. until after 7 a.m. The weather there was wet and cold. It is believed that a series of heavy frosts followed by rain were responsible for the falls. On tho arrival of the train in Palmerston North, three passengers were rushed to Alilson aerodrome to connect with the southbound airliner, which had been held back until their arrival.

Tho dance committee arrangements are always designed to make the function a gay one and last year its popularity was reflected in the attendance of over 600 patrons.
