DIAMOND JUBILEE CELEBRATED
“The King sends you heartiest greetings and. wishes on your diamond wedding day,” was a message received, from the privato secretary of His Majesty the King by Major and Mrs E. G. V. Parker, of 33 Nixon street, • Hamilton East, on Monday, when they celebrated the diamond jubilee of their, wedding. Major Parker is the only son of Mr. Robert Parker, of Wisbangcr, Hedley, Hampshire, and Mrs. Parker is the daughter of Mr. Isaac Dare, of .Frailham, Surrey. They were married at Kingston-on-Thames, England. Although now 80 and 76 years'of age ro-. spectively, both Major and Mrs Parker enjoy excellent health and were ablo to appreciate to the full the celebrations arranged in their honour. Mrs Parker made; the wedding cake herself. . i
There ,>vas a full attendance at their residence of the members of the family and letters and telegrams arrived in largo numbers from all parts of ' the Dominion. A wedding breakfast was held at the .Hamilton Hotel.-
