All Roads Will Lead to Showgrounds
WINTER SHOW NEXT WEEK. All roads will load to Palmerston North on Wednesday next whon tho most comprehensive Winter Show in the Dominion will commence its season of six days and five nights at the Palmerston North Showgrounds. The Manawatu and West Coast A. and P. Association has left no stone unturned to make the 1930 National Dairy Show the best yet and in this regard an amazing variety of attractions have been arranged. On the .King’s Birthday there is to be a motor’ gymkhana and other spectacular events. Wood-chopping competitions, cycle racing, ring events, dog trials, steer riding, Highland dancing (for which there are 150 entries), the football match between High School and Te Auto, representative hockey, and possibly trotting competitions —all find a place on tho schedule. Car parking facilities will be provided at the Showgrounds on tho box plan system. Trapeze artists, free vaudeville sessions, programmes of baud music, the thrills of the scoota boats, and the daring Hell Drivers will all contribute towards the entertainment. Fanciers will find plenty to interest them in the Poultry and Cage Bird Show, which is being staged !on a record scale. Tho Motor Olympia will not be overlooked by patrons, who will find a fino display of competitive exhibits and machinery in tho halls. Lucky sample packets of cheese will bo distributed and Mickey Mouse's birthday celebrations will be a feature. .
