Stock Sales
MARTON SALE. The N:Z. Farmers’ Co-op. Distributing Co., Ltd., report a yarding 'of 500 sheep, 50 cattle and a few pigs at their sale held on Tuesday last. Sheep sold on a par with late sales. The cattle section comprised mostly store cows with a few dairy cows and heifers. There was nothing attractive in this section and competion was inclined to drag. Wo quote:—Fat wethers, 25s 6d to 20s; fat ewes, 17s 9d to 20s 3d; fat lambs, 17s Sd to 19s Od; good medium w.f.w. lambs, 10s; in.a. ewes in lamb, 18s Gd, 18s 7d to 19s; prime fat cows, ex-dairv, £4 Is to £4 10s; lighter sorts, £2 15s to £3 2a Gd; store cows, 20s, 25s to £2 Gs; dairy cow with calf at foot, £0; springing heifer, £4 10s; weaner pigs, 7s 6d; forward stores, 10s.
