100 YEARS FOR LUCIANO AND HIS GANG. United Press Association—By Electrlo Telegraph.—Copyright. NEW YORK, June 7. Charles Luciano and eight associates were found guilty to-day by a jury on 62 counts of compulsory They face possible prison sentences exceeding 100 years each.
A New York message on April 23 stated that the special prosecutor in Mr Dewey’s “vice clean-up” struck another blow at the underworld, when Charles (“Lucky”) Luciano, reputed to bo New York’s biggest gang leader, and twelve henchmen, were indicted as operators of a chain of disorderly houses within the metropolitan district. All wero held in gaol under prohibitive bail, totalling 1,100,000 dollars. They were indicted on ninety counts.
