Excellent Attractions For Winter Show
OPENING DAY NEXT WEEK Eagerly awaited, the opening day of the great National Dairy Show iu Palmerston North is only a week off tomorrow, and there are indications that there will be a big crowd of visitors to the city. A particularly bright programme has been arranged for patrons on the openiug day, Wednesday, June 17. Starting at 1.15 p.m., a thrilling gamo of first-class hockey will take place between Wellington and Mannwatu, and tiro ground is to be specially prepared to provide for the best playing conditions. At 2.30 p.m. the annual Rugby match between To Ante College and the Palmerston North Boys’ High School first fifteen will take place. Owing to the enlargement of the scope of tuition, bigger boys are now attending the college, which will field a heavy and strong side. Although Te Aute are reluctant to discloso their full strength, it seems certain that the local team will have to play a very high-class game to avoid defeat. The To Aute team has had remarkable success in senior grade matches in Hawke’s Bay this season. A bos plan for car parking iu tho grounds for the duration of the show is now open.
