MBS. S. J. DEAN.
It was with, the deepest regret that tier many friends in Palmerston Worth learned of the passing at Wanganui on May 27 last of Mrs. Sylvia Juanita Dean (nee Miss Nita Blockley) in her 37th year. Born in Palmerston North, deceased resided locally until 12 months ago when her husband, Mr. Marry Dean, moved to tho river-port city for business reasons. She was particularly well-known in musical circles, being an accomplished ginger, holding tho letters A.T.C.L. and L.T.0.L., and assisted in numerous charity efforts, also being a foundation member of the Palmerston North Music Club and a member of All Saints' choir for over 12 years. Tho late Mrs. Dean was a member of the staff of the local branch of the Public Trust Office until her marnago a few years ago and for a short period was a shorthand teacher at- the Technical High School night classes. Her genial personality and sterling character earned fo»r her a host of friends, ail of whom will extend their sympathy to her husband in his sad bereavement.
