Assault and Robbery Charge
MAORI ACCUSED REMANDED Rawiri Makariki, alias McGregor, alias Willie Winkle, the Maori who was arrested at Levin on Sunday, was charged before Mr J. L. Stout, S.M. in the Palmerston Mortli Magistrate’s Court yesterday with robbing Wm. E. do Ridder of £7 10s and immediately before such robbery, using personal violence.
Detective-Sergeant Bickerdiko asked for a remand till Thursday, which was granted. Accused is 24 years of age and tho charge was the sequel of an incident which occurred at Shannon on Saturday night.
