STATE THEATRE

TOAr AVAGGS AND RALPH LYNN IN "FOREIGN AFFAIRES” TO-DAY, In “Foreign Affaires,” the new Tom Walls-Ralph Lynn comedy, produced by Gaumont-British, Walls has discarded his apparently endless youth and appears as a gay old dog with a riotous history behind him. an empty bank balance and extravagant tastes. His Captain, the Honourable Archibald Gore, has an aristocratic bearing and the grand manner, and out of these ho has managed to make sufficient capital to indulge his fancies in wine and horses. Captain, the Hon. Archibald Gore certainly gets tlie most out of life. As a drinker of rare wines,' a judge of fast horses and spirited women, lie is a seasoned expert. Jn “Foreign Affaires,” the up-to-the-minute farce, lie plays tho disreputable old Captain .to perfection. And vet he never lets you forget that “good claret runs under me shirt”! Aristocratic of bearing, he swaggers gloriously—without a penny in his pocket. Luck breaks well for the gallant captain, however, and ho makes a good win on the turf. Then sunny Riviera claims him. Here the scenes are glorious, the sea blue and tho little Continental towns gay and light-hearted. But there is a Casino. Again the Captain finds himself penniless—then dark doings are set on foot. The sunshine is still there, the gaiety and tho opulence—hut there is dirty work somewhere.—and Robertson. Hare means to find out! Others in the splendid cast include Norma Varden, Marie Lolir and Dianna Churchill. Splendid Session For Children. , The State again offers a delightful treat for children this morning, when all children attending t <S> monster Easter party at 10.30 a.m. \v:il receive a big Easter egg; also they will be entertained to a wonderful programme. Box plans for the session are now on view at the theatre. 'Phono 5599.
