PRINCIPAL RACE WON BY IRONSIDE. NORTON MEMORIAL TO IIOCKELLA. Per Press Association. WANGANUI, Last Niglit. The Wanganui Trotting Club’s iirst meeting of the season was held Saturday afternoon in windy but line weather. After rain in the morning the track was on the heavy side. The attendance was good and tho tote handled £5520 10s, as compared with £5619 10s, a decrease of £125. An inquiry was held after the second raco into the incident in which Polly Pan, when about to take the lead 100 yards from tho iiuish, swerved under pressure and interfered with Nativo Tree, and tho placings of the judge were reversed, Native Tree being awarded second dividend and Polly Pan third place, but it was considered the interference was accidental and no further action was taken.
