Daring Deed went to the front at the end of two furlongs and lod to the top of tho straight from Moonbeam, Riptide and Great Star. Riptide, and Great Star, Riptide got to the front a furlong from home and won by three-quarters of a length from Moonbeam, which beat Daring Deed by a head. Hunting Go came from last to finish fourth. Queen of Song’s rider broke a leather. SMITHPIELD HACK HANDICAP, of £100; 6 furlongs. 1 COLOMBO 8.9 (L. J. Ellis) ... I 2 Silver. Dollar Bill into tho straight and won by a head from Epris, who was .last to begin and Avho .finished strongly on the outside. Fair Feather was a length away and Invoice ,a length further back. Time, 1.13 1-5.
