Cricket in Feilding

COMPETITIONS CONCLUDE. For the purpose of deciding the Bartholomew Cup issue the Feilding senior cricket competition was carried cn until Saturday, when games opened on the previous Saturday were concluded. Feilding secured a handsome win over Colytou, whose second strike collapsed under the bowling of Cartel and Old Boys secured a straight out win over Public Service. Colyton batted first in the match against Feilding and supplied 72 a disappointing effort for the season's champions. Replying to this Feilding did a little better and on Saturday with two men short Colyton only produced 58 and five of the wickets fell to Carter for 20 runs. Feilding quickly overtook the handicap without the loss of a wicket. At stumps on the previous Saturday Old Boys had made just on 100 in reply to the Service first innings strike of 132. On resuming the total was carried to 160. Short-handed Service with their available bats knocked up 93 as their second innings contribution and for the loss of five wickets Old Boys secured sufficient runs to claim the game.
