From Our Own Correspondent. Tennis Dance.

An enjoyable dance was held under the auspices of tho Foxton Tennis Club on Thursday evening. ' Free buses which ran from Palmerston North and Levin were well-patronised, and the - large crowd present spent a thoroughly happy time. Novelty dances were won by tn'e follow-ing;-Spot dance, Mr* H. Graham (Levin) and Miss E. Ellers; Monte Carlo, Mr. Patterson and Aliss J. itoiri. . The duties of M's.C. were carried out by Alessrs. A. Anderson and B. Collins, and extras lor dancing, were played by Mr., B. Spring. The club wishes to express its sincere thanks to Airs. J. Walls for the use of her piano, and Air. W. D. A letter was received from the ilangiutu Womens Institute, asking the local drama circle to contribute a one-act piuy and lour items at the Institute birthday party, to be held at ltangiolu on April 2»i. Robinson’s re'marks were endorsed by oilier speakers and it was decided to recommend 'the committee to lake the matter up. Harvest Thanksgiving. Iu connection wilii the local .Methodist Cluirca harvest thanksgiving celebrations, a harvest sale ..was neld on Tuesday afternoon, wnen members of the ladies' guild conducted a -stall laden with produce. sweets, cakes, etc. During the afternoon, solos were rendered by Alesdames J.'T. Edwards and J. F. Riches, the accompaniments being played by Airs. R. N. Speirs. A deck quoit competition was won by Aliss J. Voung. Personal. Aliss K. Ilooro is at present spending a holiday on Kapiti Island. Air. and Airs. J. Atairs, who have been visiting Foxton and Paraparauniu, have returned to Ruaketure. Air. R. Koure nils returned to Foxton froin Taupo. Air. H. Goetz, of Alanawatu Heads, is at present deep-sea fishing at Aiayor Island', Tuurauga.
