Floods Probable STORMY CONDITIONS FORECAST. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Night. The northern cyclone continues to move slowly southwards. To-day it is centred west of tho Auckland Peninsula and is still very intense, the pressure at Cape Maria Van Diemen being as low as 29.01 inches. Winds: Strong to gale generally and of strong to gale forces in some places north of Westport and Ivaikoura; southeasterly prevailing in the Cook Strait area and westerlies in the extreme north; elsewhere varying between north-east and south-east, but the change to westerlies gradually extending southwards to beyond Auckland. Seas (New Zealand waters): Rough to high north of Farewell Spit and Ivaikoura; elsewhere moderate but rising. Eastern Tasman Sea: South-east to south winds strong to gale and of strong to gale force in the northern portion; seas Tough to high. Weather: Dull and misty with widespread rains; stormy conditions and heavy falls from Nelson and Marlborough northwards and considerable flooding probable in places, especially in the North Island.
