NEW TASMANIAN FACILITY. TELEPHONE SERVICE OPENED. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. SYDNEY, March 26. The Prime Minister yesterday officially opened the telephone service betwen the mainland and Tasmania. Mr Lyons spoke from Albury while on route to Canberra. He expressed the belief that the isolation which Tasmanians felt should now be completely removed. The new submarine telephone would facilitate the conduct of national commercial affairs and enable wireless programmes to bo relayed from tho mainland to all parts of Tasmania.
