All salary and wage reductions are to bo restored to the staff of the Christchurch Drainage Board in accordance with a decision made at a meeting of tho board. An amendment that tho proposal bo referred to tho finance committee for a report was lost by five votes to three. The restoration will take effect from April 1. A reduction of 10 per cent, in wages and salaries was mado in 1933 and a partial restoration of 5 per cent, was made last year. The Waimairi County Council also decided to restore the wages cuts at once. The council made a partial restoration 18 months ago.
