Munitions For Labour War

> ; jf. - Tear Gas, Automatics, Ammunition GRIM PREPARATIONS IN U.S.A. UniLed Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. Received Tuesday, [1.50 p.m. NEW YORK, Mar. 23.

A number of leading American industrial corporations have been secretly accumulating large stores of tear gas bombs, revolvers, automatic rifles and ammunition in anticipation of labour troubles. This allegation is made by the New York World-Telegram in a despatch from Washington to-day which stated that evidence had been unearthed by a group of Senators from the tiles of the “Federal Laboratories Corporation” which supplied tear gas and acted as broker for the purchase of arms from various gun manufacturers. One large steel corporation which has been the leader in the fight against unionisation ordered 47 .3S calibre police type of revolvers some time ago when a steel strike was threatened, while a Pittsburg firm ordered 3391 dollars' worth of riot guns, gas masks and other equipment. Throughout tno transactions the purchasers warned the dealers to keep) their orders secret. From the correspondence it also appears that corporations frequently ordered superior equipment with the intention of supplying the National Guard troops although they are already supplied with standard United States army equipment.
