CURE(?) FOR SMOKING

The test cigarette habit cure. If you must cut your cigarettes in two "by all means do so, and do it literally. Take a pair of scissors and make two of every cigarette in the packet. Now you have 40 instead of 20. And keep at them as much as you like. Most of the fun of cigarettes comes from the joy of lighting a cigarette and revelling in the first few draws. In this system, you throw away twice the number of ends, and when you add up the day’s total, you find that you have not only halved your consumption, hut you have rejected more unsmoked tobacco. A vile trick, I admit, but it works. That is, until the next time.—D.H.S. in “Men Only.’’
