Wet and Colder Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, Last Niglit. A depression has crossed the South Island to-day, -while another one has been located north-east of East Cape. A cyclone lies between Queensland and Norfolk Island, but an intense anticyclone extends from. South Australia across Tasmania on to the western Tasman Sea.
Winds: Westerly at first in the central areas, but southerlies soon prevailing over the Dominion, moderate to strong generally and increasing to gale force in mafiy places. Seas (New Zealand waters): Rather rough on the West Coast of the South Island and rough in the far south, elsewhere moderate but Tising generally. Eastern Tasman Sea: Southerly winds strong to gale force with rough seas.
Weather: Unsettled with rain at times in most districts and some heavy falls likely in the eastern areas.
Temperatures: Becoming much colder but improving shortly on the West Coast of the South Island.
