Manawatu Co-operative Building Society
A meeting of the board of directors of the Manawatu Co-op. Building Society was hold last night when the following were present:—Messrs J. J. O’Shea (chairman), G. B. Uope, W. H. Ward and G-. G. Priest. The secretary reported that 150 shares we applied for during the last three weeks and that group No. 7 would start operations on April 10 with 1000 shares. Free of interest loans were dealt with as follow: —No. 1 group, £SOO placed upon fixed deposit at the request of a shareholder; No. 2 group, £SOO is to be offered for sale at the shareholder’s request; No. 3 group, £7OO was finally approved for purchase of a house property No. 4 group, £7OO for fixed deposit; No. 5 group, £7OO for purchase of dwelling; and in No. 6 group £SOO was approved for the purchase of a dwelling.
The chairman stated that £150,000 had been made available through th* society’s co-operative organisation, enabling shareholders to finance the purchase of homes in 11 years.
