IN NATAL CRICKET MATCH. CENTURY TO HARVEY. United Tress Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. DURBAN, Feb. 2-1. Mainly owing to an excellent stand by H. AVadc, the Test captain, and Haivey, Natal succeeded in gaining a first-innings, lead over Australia when the match was continued to-day. In reply to Australia’s score of 256 Natal’s innings closed for 272, Harvey making 138. Natal's overnight score was 38 for one wicket, the batsmen being H. Wade (20) and Harvey (6). O’Reilly and Grimmett met their match this morning. AVadc and Harvey played both of them forcefully, and Harvey hit a six off O’Reilly. The partnership added 100 runs in 95 minutes. Harvey’s glorious iuuings ended' when in attempting to hit O’Reilly for 6 he was caught by O’Brien, who leaned backwards over the fence and held a great catch. Harvey hit one 6 and ten 4’s. He batted 264 minutes and his invaluablo innings, which was assisted capably by AVade, gave Natal tho distinction of leading Australia on the first innings. The remaining batsmen were dismissed cheaply. O’Reillyinjured a hand when fielding a fast one from Harvey, and left the field to receive attention. AVhen Australia commenced their second innings wind hampered the slow bowler, Murray, who was so successful in tho first innings, and Fing letou and Brown to-day played him without the slightest difficulty. Dalton was brought on and broke the partnership in his second over. Dalton, bowling into the wind, continued.
