Olive Oil is Full of Vitamins

Olive oil lias many uses and people do not nearly realise its value, both medicinally and in the household. It is full of vitamins, and is a most nourishing food. It is excellent for building up the nerves, and for correcting digestive troubles —take.a spoonful just before eating, and it will remove the acids which cause fermentation in tho food tract. It is also invaluable for chest complaints, constipation, kidney and liver disorders, for it has all the advantages and none of the disadvantages of animal fat.

If it is found difficult to take at first (and many people dislike the idea of taking any oil), it can be swallowed quite easily in a little milk or orange juice, or with a pinch of salt. As one becomes used to it, it can be taken alone.

For household use it is also good. To remove heat marks from a polished table rub, with a little olive oil and salt. Try rubbing ■ brass curtain rods with olive oil to make the rings slip along easily. Olivo oil makes an excellent polish for lacquered wood —trays, etc. To prevent silver from tarnishing when it is stored away rub it over first with a little olive oil.

Brassware will keep its bright shine longer if it is rubbed up with a touch of olive oil- after the usual cleaning. If dark coloured straw hats are brushed well with a stiff, clean brush dipped lightly in olive oil the gloss will be restored and the hats considerably freshened.

Almost always hard water leaves a greasy deposit on the bath which is difficult to get. off. There is nothing better nor quicker to use than a cloth dipped in paraffin. Then rub with a dry cloth and the bath will be spotless. The smell disappears immediately.
