Tho Prime Minister (Hon. M. J. Savage) had no statement to make when seen early this afternoon, beyond the fact that the position, owing to the many details that had to be considered, still lacked a definite outline, and until it was clarified he was not going to make any announcement.

Questioned as to when he proposed to issue a statement about the guaranteed price scheme, Mr Savage said that the finance sub-committee examination of all the details had not advanced sufficiently for him to say anything about it yet. “It has taken longer than I expected,” he said. "There is a multiplicity of points to be considered in connection with it, and it is not always possible for us to get our information right away. The finance committee has tho matter in baud, and tho full Cabinet will consider its report.”
