Important developments at the New Plymouth airport are to be undertaken at a cost of £47,000. The Borough Council has decided to purchase for £7OOO an additional 124 acres, and development work costing £40,000 is to be undertaken by the Public Works Department. The addition to the airport will give a runway of three-quar-ters of a mile in any direction. The decision to make the purchase involves the postponement for three years of a scheme to build a new public library and museum,
