Danish Consul's Flight to England

CAPU TOWN, Jan. 7,
Otto Tkaning, tho Danish Consul at Johannesburg, left here at 7 p.in. local tirno in an attempt to break the Cape to England rocord, via tho west coast. He hopes to make only three stops. There was bright moonlight with good conditions for tho first stage of the journey.
With his wife as co-pilot, Mr Tkaning is using an American Beeckcraft monoplane, which has a cruising speed of over 150 miles per hour.
Forced Landing’ by Rose

Four hours after his departure for the Cape in the Miles Falcon ’plane, with which he won the King’s Cup last year, Flight-Lieutenant Rose ran into a snowstorm over France and made a forced landing at Abbeville. The aeroplane was damaged but the pilot escaped with very slight injuries.
