Annual School Concert

BRIGHT ENTERTAINMENT AT KONINI. Tho annual school concert took place in the hall recently when the children presented some very entertaining items, the following being the programme: Opening song, “Rosebuds,” school; recitation, “The Lark,” Nola Thompson; action song in character, “Tlio Hat Shop,” girls; action song in character, “Three Mice,” school; recitation, “Tho Elf and tho Doormouse,” Mavis Olsen; action song, “Canoe Song,” school; dialogue, “Wo Don’t Want to Grow Dp,” Helen Thompson and Charles Howat; play, “Tho Toys’ Party,” Jean Wilson. (Mrs Mouse), Mavis Olsen (Mr Mouse), Nola Thompson and Myra Cornforth (Baby Mice), Helen Thompson and Reneo Gray (dolls), Dorothy Thompson (Golliwog), Harry Miller (Teddy Boar), Jean Burners (tho girl Joan); recitation, “Barbara Frietchie,” Nora Miller; dance, “Highland Fling” Jean Wilson; action song in character, “Ton Little Nigger Boys,” school boys; action song, “The Land Man,” and song, “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star,” school. After the concert was over tho children eagerly awaited tho arrival of Santa Claus, who came in as jolly as ever. Every child then received a present frim Santa’s big sack and then little Dorothy Thompson reversed the order by giving Santa Claus a present from tho children. Ho then took his departure after being given three ringing cheers. Ou behalf of the children, Stanley Olsen then presented Mr Sutton with a salad set, a present Mrs Sutton could share too, as she took a keen interest in the children also, and spent a good deal of time making the costumes, etc., for the concert.

After supper, Mr Sutton took the opportunity of thanking all those who had helped in any way to make tho evening a success. He specially thanked Miss Olsen, who had given up a good deal of her time to accompany the children both in practices and af the concert, and presented her with a gift as a mark of appreciation, also giving one .to Mrs Eric Olsen for playing for the dancing. The adults then took tho floor'for dancing, Mr M. Fulton being M.C.
