Restarting Empire Migration
BOARD APPOINTED TO STUDY SCHEMES United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. Received Thursday, 10.20 p.m, LONDON, Dec. 19. Following on a debate in the Commons the Government is appointing an Empire Settlement Board to examine schemes for restarting migration. Rt. Hon. D. H. Hacking during the debate indicated that tho existing Overseas Settlement Committee would be abolished and a new board Will submit selected schemes to the Governments overseas, and if accepted they will be promptly put into operation.
