MASKED BANDITS FOILED. MELBOURNE, Dec. 13.. Maskod bandits iircd on a car driven by Francis O’Connor, bookmaker, after ho had escaped an attempted hold-up. The bullets pierced the door and lodged in the upholstery of a seat close to Aubrey Parkinson, jockey, who was travelling with O’Connor. An hour later O.’Connor’s hotel was telephoned and a voice said, “Tell O’Connor lie was lucky to-night, but he may not be so lucky next time.’’ This is the second occasion O’Connor has foiled hold-up men. He was wounded last time.
