Pigs and Poultry
x'he Dominion Auctioneering Co., Palmerston North, reports a capacity yarding of over 400 pigs at their weekly pig fair held in Palmerston North on Saturday. There was again an exceptional demand for heavy stores and porkers with a very keen demand for best-quality weaners. One particular line of weaners of very good quality realised as high as 22s 6d. Following were the prices realised:—Best weaners, 12s to 22s 6d; others, 7s to 10s; slips, 10s to 16s 6d;_ stores to 28s;
porkers, 32s 6d, 36s Cd, 37s 6d up to 42s (id. There was also a very large yarding of poultry, over 800 birds being sold altogether. Prices were again holding with a good, keen demand for best sorts. Realisations wero as follow: — White hens, from 3s to 5s 6d; black hens, to 6s 6d; cockerels to 7s S .(all prices, being per pair),
