from O. •• 11 i.orrespondent. | MAKOMAKO. •The November meeting ot tho AY omen s restitute was held on Thursday afternoon when Mrs W. Eising presided over a fair number of members. On view was tho beautiful Crewe rose bowl which me Institute is justly proud of having won for last year's potato competition. It was decided that the howl be held in turn by the members while it remains tho property of this Institute. The president announced that the Christmas tree P a , had been arranged for Friday, December 13. Amongst other business discussed was tho annual gift to Porirua Hospital, for Christmas cheer. Miss w. Vautier, of AVliakarongo, gave a very pleasing and helpful demonstration o decorative cake icing and the making ot pastry by different methods, both being keenly appreciated by all present. On the motion of Mrs H. Eddie, she was accorded a hearty vote of thanks. Miss H. Beech, presented a report on the council meeting of the Busli-AVairnriipn Federation held at Hainua. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses. M0.,dames C.arlick and Vile. Tho competition for tlm day, “The best gift not to cost more than Is lid" was won by Miss A. Sargent, Miss 13. Sowry being second and Mrs AV. Eising third. Miss Viiutter and Mrs W. Day junr. kindly acted as judges in this competition. A very happy meelIng was concluded with the NaUon.J Anthem. Miss D.
