GHOSTS! A landlord, having difficulty in disposing of an old house because the public believed it to bo haunted, made arrangements for an old negro to stay in the house ono night. Ho left him with a bottle of whisky and went home. The next morning the landlord went to see the negro. When he reached the house ho found the end of it knocked out, and no trace of the man ho had left there the night before. For three days he hunted for the negro. Finally, forty miles away, he found him coming toward home. “Kastus, where have you boen for the last three days?” ho demanded. “Boss,” replied the negro, slowly, “I been cornin’ back.”
